Last night I watched “So you think you can dance.” One of the things I noticed about the show is how the judges speak to the contestants. Time after time the judges would ask the dancers their story, last night at least 3 different people brought the audience and judges to tears.
Stories have power. There is something in them that connects us to the story teller. We are pout in their shoes and transported to another time and place. A place where we can have hope, despair, salvation, redemption, pain, suffering and loss. Stories touch hearts and can change a person, and drive a person to stand up or sit down.
As Christians we have the Greatest Story every told. The story of a holy God who loves His creation so much that He became like us, to show us His love. Who died on a cross for us, only to rise from the dead three days later to set the world completely free and make the world right.
The Jesus story gives hope to the world of redemption, forgiveness, reconciliation, healing and deliverance. The story is worth telling. Why don’t you share the story of Jesus today with someone you know who has not entered into the Jesus story just yet and maybe they will want to join in that story. I pray they will.
